Less than a week after Shah Rukh Khan bowled Kolkata over with his charm and promise to resolve all IPL-related disputes, the CAB’s main opposition once again raised the tempo on matters of ticket-distribution that could yet again jeopardise the Bollywood superstar’s Eden Gardens extravaganza.
CAB president Prasun Mukherjee yesterday announced phenomenally low ticket prices for the seven IPL Twenty20 matches to be played at the Eden Gardens in April-May. But he also announced a telling decision — spelling out that the 31,000 members of the CAB will not be entitled to get free tickets and they will be granted a 25 percent concession on the tickets they buy. It effectively means all of the 87,000 tickets for the seven matches will be put on sale.

Mumbai, Mar 17 (UNI) Industrialist Vijay Mallya and film maker Sanjay Gupta have joined hands to create Indian Premier League (IPL) Bangalore team Royal Challenger’s ad film.
The closed-door meeting between Mr Mallya and Mr Gupta, that was initially scheduled for 30 minutes, lasted for over six hours, and the two had meticulous discussion on the ad film.

CRICKET Australia fears that opening an annual window for the Indian Premier League could lead to the tournament chewing a big hole through the international calendar.
Cricket Australia’s chief executive James Sutherland, concerned that the West Indies board would allow three of its best players to play in the IPL instead of in Test matches against Australia in May and June, believes there is a risk India may become greedy and demand more and more free weeks as the tournament increases fan bases and finances.

With Vijay Mallya set to announce his high-profile IPL team at a grand show, the event was bound to be something memorable. And memorable it was. Though the host flew in three hours late, when he arrived, the grand show, complete with lasers, a burst of orange-and-red confetti and the grand lineup more than made up for it. For those who came in late, the Bangalore Royal Challengers IPL team is owned by none other than liquor baron Dr. Vijay Mallya and local boy Rahul Dravid is the captain. Mallya, who is known to do things in style, has roped in director Sanjay Gupta to direct the sporty and racy ad while action director Allan Amin would be in-charge of the action.
