Mumbai Indians won their second straight match with a comprehensive 29-run win over the high-flying Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League match at the D Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
The win followed their triumph over the Kolkata Knight Riders while it was the Delhi side second defeat in six games.
Chasing 163 for a win, the Delhi team’s innings began on a disastrous note with the in-form Gautam Gambhir [Images] (1) and Shikar Dhawan (1) returning to the pavillion early and reducing their side to four for two by the third over.

Two Indian Premier League matches scheduled for May 14 and 16 at the D Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai are likely to be shifted to the Wankhede Stadium in South Mumbai, according to Cricket Board sources.
“The matches scheduled at D Y Patil on May 14 and 16 are likely to be shifted to the Wankhede Stadium,” the sources told PTI.
“The Mumbai franchise owners (Reliance Industries ) want them to be shifted and the D Y Patil authorities do not have any objections,” they added.

Sachin Tendulkar’s IPL debut has been further delayed after he was ruled out for the tie against the Delhi Daredevils today. Sachin has failed to recover fully from a groin injury.

Indian Premier League Chairman Lalit Modi on Sunday welcomed Shoaib Akhtar in the ongoing Twenty20 tournament after a Pakistani appeal tribunal suspended the five-year ban on the maverick speedster for a month, paving way for his participation in the IPL.
“Our condition (to allow him play in IPL) was that the ban must be lifted or suspended. In that effect, Shoaib is now allowed to play in the IPL. We’ve spoken to him and he should be coming to India in the next two days,” Modi said.
The IPL chief said that he was in touch with Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Nasim Ashraf, who confirmed that the five-year ban on Shoaib had been suspended by the three-member tribunal.
