New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Appeals Commissioner Sudhir Nanavati has submitted his report on the Harbhajan Singh-S Sreesanth slapgate issue on Tuesday to the cricket board’s Disciplinary Committee.

The Ahmedabad-based lawyer’s 14-page report was prepared after Nanavati recorded statements of Harbhajan, Sreesanth, Match Referee Farokh Engineer and the two on-field umpires - Aleem Dar of Pakistan and India’s Amiesh Saheba.

The trouble for Harbhajan Singh does not seem to end. The IPL banned him for 11 matches for slapping pacer S Sreesanth. Now, the Indian cricket board wants to set an example

The BCCI sources have told NDTV that Harbhajan is likely to face a 10-match ban for slapping Sreesanth. He might also be fined 10-20% of his yearly contract of 40 lakh as a Grade B player. Harbhajan’s past record will also play a part in deciding his penalty as he has been involved in past seven instances.

Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh’s fall from grace has been swift and brutal. Overnight, he has been pulled out of all the advertisements and hoardings of the Mumbai Indians. This follows an 11-match ban imposed on him by the DLF IPL for slapping Sreesanth after a match in Mohali.

The Mumbai Indians team management says they have taken this decision as it’s not fair to feature a player who will not be part of the squad.

Now that he has shaken hands and accepted his fate, Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will be hoping that over the next month or so he can stay away from the arclights and introspect.

But the offie will have no such luxury for a combative BCCI is in no mood to allow Harbhajan to escape with just an 11-match IPL ban.

BCCI President Sharad Pawar says, “Separate decisions need to be taken for IPL and Team India.”

Harbhajan singh suspended by BCCI with immediate effect for slapping Sreesanth, hence he won’t be able to play tomorrows match against Deccan chargers.He is temporarily suspended pending inquiry by Match referee.Its a big blow for Mumbai Indians as their skipper Sachin Tendulkar is also injured and his status for tomorrow’s match is still unclear.
Decision was made seeing video footage and hearing will be done on monday on New Delhi.Final verdict would be announced by match referee Farokh Engineer.If convicted he could face 10 match Ban,cuz Physical attack on a player by another will invite level 4 punishment.

The Mohali IPL franchise on Saturday lodged a formal complaint against off-spinner Harbhajan Singh with the BCCI over his altercation with S Sreesanth, suggesting that it was an “unprovoked attack” on Sreesanth by Harbhajan.

“Kings XI Punjab confirms that a formal complaint against Mr Harbhajan Singh was submitted to the BCCI earlier today. The complaint is in relation to yesterday’s incident following the match against Mumbai Indians, where Mr Singh made an unprovoked attack on Mr Sreesanth,” a media statement by the team management said.

Sreesanth breaks down after Mumbai Indian match,following which the fast bowler was seen crying bitterly on the ground at the end of their IPL match.Harbhajan allegedly slaps Sreesanth after the match and then he apologised to Sreesanth after the incident. Yuvaraj singh said he’s upset with what happened,its unacceptable, he also said Bhajji came to the dressing room and apologised.Sources says Bhajji lashed out without provocation.Kings XI Punjab to lodge official complaint on incident.Also BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla said that the board would look into the matter and take appropriate action against anyone found guilty.
Kings XI coach Tom Moody was also visibly upset by the incident and termed as “unacceptable” Harbhajan’s behaviour. “At the end of the day, players shake hands. But today saw more that from Harbhajan and Sreesanth. It is unacceptable behaviour and I am sure officials will take of note. “The positive thing is that Harbhajan had a long chat with Sreesanth. But I am not sure what ramifications this incident will have,” Moody said.

Upset after his team’s third successive defeat, the Harbhajan also looked unhappy with his teammates.

“When you lose nothing seems to be okay. I won’t bowl and bat for other people. They have to be captain of their own bowling and own bowling. I can not do other’s job,” he said angrily when asked if captaincy was tough.

“I don’t like losing. When you lose, you don’t feel happy.”
